May/June 2012 WASSCE Results is Out- How to Check it

The results of May/June 2012 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have been released. The results were released on 10th of August, 2012 by The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) at its National office in Yaba, Lagos.

The breakdown of this year results showed:

A total of 1, 695, 878 sat for the exam.

923, 974 candidates are male while 748, 250 candidates are female.

1, 545, 004 results were fully released which represent 91.10% of the total candidates that sat for the exam.

150, 874 candidates representing 8.90% have few subjects still being processed due to some errors mainly traceable to the candidates and schools in the course of registration or writing the examination.

The results of 112, 000 candidates, representing 6.70% of the total number of candidates are being withheld for various report of alleged involvement in examination malpractice.

771, 731 candidates representing 46.14% obtained six credits and above.

952, 156 candidates representing 56.93% obtained five credits and above.

1, 107, 747 candidates representing 66.24% obtained credits and above in four subjects.

1, 246, 729 candidates representing 74.55% obtained credits and above in three subjects.

A total of 1, 380, 596 candidates representing 82.56% obtained credits and above in two subjects.

114 blind candidates registered for the examination.

95 blind candidates sat for the examination of which 21 candidates, representing 22.11% obtained credits and above in five (5) subjects, including English Language, noting that blind candidates don’t take Mathematics and Science practical in WASSCE diets.

HOW TO CHECK MAY/JUNE 2012 WASSCE RESULT

1) Visit www.waecdirect.org

2) Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. (This number is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)

3) Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2012

4) Select the Type of Examination (May/June)

5) Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.

6) Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card

7) Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.
