Federal polytechnic Ilaro 2011/2012 ADMISSIONS INTO HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES AND NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PART-TIME PROGRAMMES

PART A

1.0 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) FULL-TIME PROGRAMMES – 2011-2012 SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro for Full-Time Programmes leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications in the following programmes:
1.1 SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE
2-Year Full-Time Higher National Diploma in:
(i) Computer Science
(ii) Food Technology
(iii) Science Laboratory Technology with option in Chemistry
(iv) Office Technology and Management (Secretarial Studies)
(v) Statistics
(vi) Hospitality Management (Hotel and Catering Management)
1.2 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
2-Year Full-Time Higher National Diploma in:
(i) Accountancy
(ii) Banking and Finance
(iii) Business Administration & Management
(iv) Marketing
1.3 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING
2-Year Full-Time Higher National Diploma in:
(i) Civil Engineering
(ii) Computer Engineering
(iii) Electrical Engineering with options in:
(a) Electrical Power and Machines
(b) Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
(iv) Mechanical Engineering with options in:
(a) Plant and Power Engineering Technology (Automotive Engineering)
(b) Manufacturing Engineering and Technology (Production Engineering)
1.4 SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
2-Year Full-Time Higher National Diploma in:
(i) Architectural Technology
(ii) Building Technology
(iii) Estate Management
(iv) Surveying and Geo-informatics
(v) Urban and Regional Planning
(vi) Quantity Surveying
HND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants seeking HND Admission must possess:
(i) A good National Diploma not below Lower Credit and basic requirements for National Diploma Programme.
(ii) A minimum of One Calendar year Post National Diploma relevant Industrial Experience
(iii) Academic Transcripts which should be sent by the student’s last Institution under confidential cover to the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. NO CANDIDATE WILL BE REGISTERED BEFORE THE RECEIPT OF THE ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT.
(iv) A good performance at the screening exercise to be conducted by the Polytechnic.

PART B

2.0 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PART-TIME PROGRAMMES – 2011-2012 ACADEMIC SESSION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro in the following Part-Time National Diploma (ND) programmes:

 

2.1 SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES

COURSES: [a] National Diploma in Accountancy

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with Credits in 5 subjects including English Language(not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand.

[b] National Diploma in Banking & Finance

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with Credits in 5 subjects including English Language(not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand.

[c] National Diploma in Business Administration & Management

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with Credits in 5 subjects including English Language(not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand.

2.2 SCHOOL OF APPLIED SCIENCE

COURSES: National Diploma in Office Technology & Management (Secretarial Studies)

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with Credits in 5 subjects including English Language(not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following: Economics, Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, Shorthand.

2.3 SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

COURSES: [a] National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics/Basic Electricity, Chemistry and credit in one of: Biology/Agric Science., Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics.

[b] National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

DURATION: 2-Years

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: The SSC of WAEC/NECO/NABTEB or GCE O’ Level with credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics/Basic Electricity, Chemistry and credit in one of: Biology/Agric Science., Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics.

3.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION

Candidates seeking admission into the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro are required to complete the Institution’s Application Form available online at:
www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng
4.0 Procedure for Obtaining Online Application Form
Scratch card containing the Application PIN for the on-line Application Form and a copy of the Polytechnic Prospectus are obtainable from any of the under listed sales Outlets upon payment of the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) only.
In addition a commission of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) only is to be paid at the Sales Outlet.

(a) Ilaro Poly Microfinance Bank Ltd, East Campus, The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(b) Skye Bank Plc, Ilaro Branch, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(c) Union Bank Plc, Ilaro Branch, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(d) Wema Bank Plc, Ilaro Branch, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(e) United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Polytechnic Campus Branch, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(f) Intercontinental Bank Plc, Ilaro Branch, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(g) Nigeria Postal Services (NIPOST) Office.
(i) NIPOST, Polytechnic Campus, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(ii) NIPOST, Surulere Quarters, Ilaro, Ogun State.
(iii) NIPOST, Sapon, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
(iv) NIPOST, Olagbade Street, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
(v) NIPOST, Makun Area, Sagamu, Ogun State.
(h) Ekuombe Microfinance Bank Limited, Ilaro, Ogun State.
5.0 Instructions to Candidates
Scratch carefully the grey panel area on the scratch card to reveal the application PIN Number. The PIN provides access to completing the application on-line and proceeds as follows:
(a) Log on to www.federalpolyilaro.edu.ng
(b) Click on “College Portal” on the Main Menu
(c) Scroll down to “New applications”
(d) Click on “Start a new application”
(e) Fill in your personal data and select your programme of choice.
(f) Enter the PIN and click on “Apply New”
(g) Take note of the “APPLICATION FORM NUMBER” assigned by the Portal as you will require it subsequently to resume any unfinished application.
(h) Complete the form as applicable.
(i) Scan and paste a colour passport-size photograph in the space provided on the online form.
(j) Confirm and submit. Print a copy of the completed Application Form.
6.0 SCREENING EXERCISE
Candidates seeking admission into ND (Part-Time) and HND (Full-Time) Programmes will appear for screening exercise after the close of the sales of admission forms. The dates for the screening exercise will be Tuesday 30th August, 2011 for National Diploma candidates and Thursday 1st September, 2011 for Higher National Diploma Candidates at 10.00am prompt.
Venue of the screening exercise is the Polytechnic West Campus.
7.0 General Information
* A candidate awaiting results of an examination is expected to give Centre No., Year of Exam and subjects taken when filling the online Application Form. When results are received, two copies must be sent immediately to the Registrar.
* The closing date for the submission of Online Application Form is Sunday August 7, 2011

    Federal Polytechnic Ilaro UTME cutoff is 180 for any course of choice. Any be informed that there is NO post utme for ND FULL TIME candidates and for any information meet us on facebook no FPI GIST. Good luck to u all

      Federal Polytechnic Ilaro don’t set Post-UTME exam, they use JAMB to admit. I can say for now until it is out.
